Sky Plus Fail

This has happened to me on more than one occasion:

I recorded a program on the family Sky+ box last week, and started watching it yesterday. Five minutes into the hour showing, I realised that I had forgotten to run an errand, forcing me to stop the playback and get on with my business.

When I returned a family member had deleted the showing, unaware that I had only managed to watch the start of it. His rationale for doing so was that it had been “Viewed” according to the Sky+ planner.

In this instance I can’t point the finger to anyone but Sky, for putting crappy software on their boxes that provide inaccurate feedback.

According to the planner, shows are either “Recorded” or “Viewed”, leaving no option for middle-ground. It’s hardly a fitting status given I was about a 1/12 of the way through watching the darn thing. The intuitive thing to do would be to label this showing as “Partially Viewed”. Come on guys…this shit ain’t hard!

Does anyone else seem to have this problem using Sky+, or is there some killer feature that I previously wasn’t aware to prevent this from happening?
